TREGO COMMUNITY FOUNDATION FOR EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE

Dear TCHS Alumni & Friends of USD 208, January, 2002
In Life, there are many wonderful things a person can accomplish and attain. Some are spiritual; some are tangible and material. But, few have the personal satisfaction, the lifetime impact, and the endurance of a quality education.
In today's world, education has risen to the top of our national concerns for our future. The complex problems, bursting development of technology, need and growth of communication capabilities, issues of health and welfare of all mankind, and global necessity for literate, intelligent, inspired and dedicated youth to answer the challenges of the future can only be addressed through a sincere effort to provide the best education possible for everyone.
A new, non-profit corporation has been established for the primary purpose of encouraging, promoting and facilitating improvements in our community education programs. The sole objective of this corporation is to encourage community members to make contributions of money, property , and other gifts which can be used to provide enhancements for the education of our students in U.S.D. 208.
Our tax dollars can only go so far in meeting the many needs of our students. With gradually declining enrollments in rural communities, the state's aid formula continues to punish the small schools and reductions in programs and opportunities for our youth are inevitable. ..unless many of us make a special effort to supplement funding to meet those needs.
This non-profit corporation provides an avenue for concerned businesses, community organizations, and private individuals to make tax-deductible contributions of money and property to be funneled and directed to timely needs of equipment, supplies, facilities, and programs. This can lead to the best educational experiences possible for students in our community.
Suggestions for educational needs of our students will be heard from members and non-members of this organization. Decisions regarding allocation of funds will be made by a board of directors. This corporation abides by the Kansas statutes for non-profit corporations and is legally registered with proper state authorities. Contributors have the authority to direct their gifts of money and property for a specific purpose. Non-specific contributions will be accumulated and dispersed as deemed appropriate by the board of directors.
There are probably few ways a business or individual can leave a legacy more appreciated and more enduring than to enhance the education of our future citizens through estate gifts and timely contributions throughout the years.
Please join us in this effort to inform and encourage businesses and individuals to consider future contributions to this cause. We welcome your questions and inquiries regarding this organization and its goals and objectives. Please feel free to contact any of the initial board of director members, which include: Georgia Abbott (743-5396), Delbert Bollig (743-5649), James Hickel (743-6452), Doug Albin (743-2533), and William Scott (743-2043).
Sincerely,
Your Friends for Education (email address: TCFFEE@Yahoo.com)
